  1. spurned by monks?

Posted by alex on 16th Feb 2011

I love monk tea, although too sweet for many occasions, it's appropriate for when you're having a bit of fruit cake or biscuit at the same time. I think the name probably drew my eye to this tea at first - but it is much too fancy for any of the monks i know, who would probably have a mug of green tea or an oolong.

  2. Different, Yet Subtle

Much like Earl Grey in its flavour, my sisters and I find that it's a great tea to have black. Although we usually like milk and sugar with our tea, this tea seemed to taste best with its own flavour alone.

  3. Smells great

I love Eral Grey so thought I'd give this a burl. It is very nice, not a lot like Earl Grey, though it is nice and sweet without being sickly

  4. THE SCENT IS WHAT ENTICES YOU

I have been drinking this tea for ages now and I have tried others, but still go back to my Number 1 favourite. The taste and smell when drinking Monk will always win hands down. I dont have a Tea Centre Shop where I am now, Darwin, but thankfully I can go online and order a 500 gram bag when my supply is getting low.

  5. How can you improve a traditional favourite?

Posted by Elizabeth on 7th Apr 2009

Earl Grey is a favourite among many tea drinkers. Monk is a black tea flavoured with bergamot (the basis of Earl Grey) and slightly sweetened with pear. If you like Earl Grey, then give this one a go. I've never failed to win over the skeptics with this one.
