This is an 8 year old (shou/ripened) compressed, flat tea cake - 360g Yunnan Pu-Erh black tea.
Beautiful large leaves from Yunnan are cleverly disguised in this traditionally compressed Chinese tea cake. Aged for 8 years, this traditional shu (ripe) Pu-erh is characterised by its rouge-tinged inky liquor and thick flavour profile. The subtle smokiness commonly exuded by Yunnan teas is evident in each taste, which is then further elevated by the fermentation process that shu pu-erh teas undergo. This translates to a smooth-tasting brew that exhibits soft earthy notes of leather and moss creating a superbly memorable infusion.
1 tea cake makes approximately 150 cups - break off a small piece to brew and the same leaves can be rebrewed several times.
Our Pu-erh is quality tested to comply with strict European standards for any chemical or pesticide residues. Uniquely, the teas are then air freighted to Australia to maintain the finest quality and freshness for your enjoyment.
- 1 teaspoon per 200mls

- rinse the leaves with hot water first, to soften the leaves, then steep for 2 minutes. Increase steeping time by 1 minute for each subsequent infusion. Same leaves can be reused for 3 - 4 infusions.
