Melbourne is abuzz with the opening of the new “Emporium” Shopping Centre today, the 16th of April!
Although not all retailers started trading today the people of Melbourne were very excited and queued outside to be one of the first to shop and explore the 48,000 square meter of shopping centre.
The new Emporium shopping centre boasts four new to Australia retailers as well as 20 brands, including The Tea Centre, opening in Melbourne for the first time, so it’s no wonder the people of Melbourne were very excited!
Developed on the site of Myer’s former building, the Emporium will connect the Melbourne Central shopping centre with the Myer and David Jones department stores in Bourke Street.
It will now be possible for shoppers to jump off the train at Melbourne Central Station and walk through Melbourne Central shopping centre, Emporium and onto David Jones or Myer without their feet touching a footpath!
Stores in the Emporium and Melbourne Central will extend their opening hours in line with Myer and David Jones, allowing everyone to shop until 7pm every night, including Saturday’s and Sunday’s, and up until 9pm on Thursday’s and Friday’s.
Overall, we think the Emporium has something to offer everyone and is a truly wonderful shopping experience.
Other highlights of the new Emporium shopping centre include an expansive food court offering extensive seating. Guests staying at 5 star hotels can have their shopping delivered back to their hotel rooms, and the parenting rooms have digital interactive screens that the toddlers can play with while Mum feeds the baby.
The Tea Centre is very excited to be a part of this beautiful new shopping centre and we hope you’ll come visit us on Level 3 very soon.
