Yorkshire tea—an iconic breakfast blend.

Yorkshire Blend is a classic black tea blend. It derives its name from the English town of Yorkshire and its historical tea traditions. Specifically, Charles Taylor originally blended this tea in the 1970s to suit the town’s water supply. Yorkshire blends are characteristically mid-strength brews that sport complex tasting notes.

Moreover, our Yorkshire Blend offers a twist on the typical breakfast brew experience. This is thanks to its developed aroma and flavour notes. Why not add a cup of Yorkshire Blend into your daily self-care ritual? We think you will love the deliciously smooth flavour of this classic household favourite.

What is breakfast tea?

With so many different types on the market, it’s no wonder the definition of breakfast tea is a little confusing! At the most basic level, breakfast tea is any black tea variety that uses leaves from multiple, international, tea-growing regions, and is blended with a certain country or region’s cultural taste in mind. You can find out more about breakfast tea and its history here.

Named by the flagship tea company that first created a blend to offset the high mineral content in the Yorkshire water supply, Yorkshire Blend uses leaves from Sri Lanka and was first introduced in the 1970s. While originally brewed in Yorkshire, this blend is now popular across the globe.
