What is chai?
Chai, meaning tea in Hindi, is a popular beverage that originated in India and is now enjoyed by many countries around the world. One of the most popular black tea fusions in the world, traditional Indian chai is generally made up of black tea, milk, various spices and a sweetener such as honey, sugar, or agave.
Although the specific blend of spices will vary from region to region, some chai spices you'll commonly find in an Indian chai are cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and pepper - All of which produce a brew that’s both sweet and spicy. The Tea Centre's Chai Blends draw inspiration from these popular flavour profiles & spices.
At The Tea Centre, we have nine varieties of loose leaf chai to cater for every taste - from black and green blends to decaf and herbal chai, and even a special sticky chai made with Australian Honey - there's a perfect chai for every palate!
How do I Brew Chai at home?
Making a pot or a cup of chai tea using loose leaves is not as hard as it sounds, with easy-to-use infusers and strainers available. However, if you are looking for a quicker alternative, we do also offer a range of teas in biodegradable pyramid tea bags, including black tea bags, green tea bags and herbal tea bags.
