The Tea Centre’s decadent collection of dessert teas

All the sugary goodness sans any guilt and excess calories! Australia’s home of quality tea since 1993 loves our assortment of devilish and delicious dessert brews that are great on their own or with a slice of cake! We’ve taken all the tasting notes you know and love from popular desserts (i.e Cherry Splice, Tiramisu, Sticky Toffee, and more) and incorporated them into the perfect nightcaps above.

Common ingredients found in dessert teas

  • Chocolate: What’s a collection of desserts tea without the best ingredient of them all: chocolate! Imbuing our blends in more ways than one—chocolate drops, cocoa oil, and cocoa nibs to name a few—we love how a little chocolate goes a long way! You can find chocolate in smooth and creamy teas like Chocolate Brownie, After Dark, and Cherry Splice tea.
  • Vanilla: when it comes to creating masterful tea blends, adding in vanilla is a no-brainer! Both highly fragrant and super sweet, enjoy this comforting flavour in the likes of Cream Black, Strawberries & Cream, and Rooibos Vanilla.
  • Rose petals: highly aromatic and soft on the palate! The Tea Centre loves adding rose petals to our dessert teas as it adds a sweet scent to any tea that it’s infused with. Found in the like of Turkish Delight and Love Potion tea.
  • Nuts: while these brews aren’t suitable for everyone, adding nuts like almond and hazelnut is a great way to add texture back into our dessert-inspired teas (not to mention subtle flavour nuances! Enjoy nutty flavours in our Mellow Cream Oolong, Blueberry Pie, and Rooibos Chocolate Bomb dessert teas.

Experience this high quality in our dessert teas, which are beautifully fragrant, enticing, and boast sugary, nutty, and creamy tasting notes throughout the range. All part of our plan to make you the finest tea possible.

    Making a pot or a cup of dessert tea with loose leaves is not as hard as it sounds, with easy-to-use infusers and strainers available in our teaware collection. However, if you are looking for a quicker alternative, we do also offer a range of teas in biodegradable pyramid tea bags, including black tea bags, green tea bags and herbal tea bags.

    How to brew a cup of dessert tea

    To brew a perfect cup of dessert tea you need to do the following.

  • Measure one teaspoon or two grams of tea leaves per 200ml water.
  • If the dessert tea has a black tea or herbal base, pour in water at boiling.
  • If the dessert tea has a green tea base, pour in water at 80°C.
  • If the dessert tea has an oolong base, pour in water at 90°C.
  • Steep green teas for 2-4 minutes, black and oolong teas for 3-5 minutes, and herbal dessert teas for 4-7 minutes.
