The Tea Centre’s gorgeous range of Japanese tea sets

Our authentic collection of Japanese tea sets is directly sourced from Japan’s finest pottery makers. You’ll notice that our tea sets are made in the style of tenmoku. Each set is adorned with a unique print, finished with a characteristically tenmoku ceramic glaze, and comes with two or four teacups. All sets also have stainless steel infusers inbuilt into the teapots. For matching teacups, be sure to explore more Japanese-made tea ceramics here.

What are tenmoku tea sets?

Tenmoku is a distinctly Japanese pottery practice that champions philosophical appeal and fluid movement. Popularised by the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony, tenmoku teaware is always simple and organic in design but bold in patterns. These patterns are achieved by skilled workers who finish their ceramic in a special glaze. The end result is a truly unique and glossy piece of pottery or teaware.

Are The Tea Centre’s Japanese tea sets dishwasher safe?

At The Tea Centre, we do not recommend cleaning your Japanese tea set in a dishwasher, due to their delicate nature! The best practice is to handwash the individual teaware pieces with tepid water and a damp cloth.
