The Tea Centre’s wide range of stainless steel teapots

Stainless Steel teapots are ideal for when displaying your tea is just as important as showing off the teaware! Not only are they beautiful, but stainless steel teapots are also highly functional and one of the most durable options out.

Stainless steel is good for holding tea as the material requires very little maintenance. Stainless steel teapots in particular boast easy-pouring designs and offer above-average heat retention with your tea. Moreover, these types of teapots are lightweight and have a neutral yet contemporary look.

At The Tea Centre, we carry a wide selection of stainless steel teapots and tea makers that cater to a variety of tastes. We also offer a range of sizes, from one-person teapots to 6-cup teapots that can satisfy a crowd.

How do I clean my teapot?

To get the longest life out of your teapot, and keep it looking at its best, we recommend cleaning after every use with warm soapy water (unless your teapot is made of low-baked earthenware; in which case, a rinse with warm water will do) and ensuring your pot is dried thoroughly before its infuser is placed back inside. This will prevent your infuser from rusting! We recommend hand washing over dishwashing our teapots—especially on pots where gold paint or intricate parts are present—as they require gentle attention.

Over time, the inside of your teapot may develop a brown stain from the tannins found in tea—these tannins will be more prominent in black teas than other tea varieties. To remove this mark, you can use a mixture of bicarbonate soda and vinegar to gently scrub at the stain, or alternatively, use a stainless-steel cleaning foaming formula.

Teaware material differences

In the same way that a carpenter is lost without his tool belt, a tea drinker can’t enjoy the full experience of tea without the proper teapot on hand! When it comes to choosing the perfect teapot to suit your lifestyle, it’s important to consider the following pros and cons of each type of teaware material.

  • Ceramic: traditional feel and retains heat well. However, this material is more prone to chipping than others
  • Glass: aesthetically pleasing to watch tea leaves unfurling during the infusion process. However, glass does not retain heat as well as other materials
  • Earthenware and Cast Iron: traditionally, there’s no washing up required as earthenware and cast iron are said to retain the memories of the tea and tea drinker
  • Porcelain: beautiful pure white colour and an convenient material for teaware. Used to be very delicate but is now much more durable
  • Bone china: Developed in England by combining porcelain and bone ash. Considered more durable than regular porcelain
