The Tea Centre is proud to supply our tea-loving family with Australian alpine sencha, a green tea that hails from Wangaratta, Victoria. This local loose leaf is made using the same tea-growing techniques employed to cultivate sencha in Japan, resulting in a well-rounded tea that delivers the most delicious flavour. You can expect a smooth mouthfeel followed by slightly sweet afternotes. Perfect to enjoy no matter the time of day.
Australian alpine sencha flourishes among the Victorian Alps, where the growing conditions are similar to those in Japan’s sencha-producing regions. As a result, this loose leaf has the same classic green tea taste with a unique Aussie twist! We also pluck the loose leaves in the same fashion as its Japanese counterpart: only the buds and upper leaves make up this tea. Sippers will love the hints of natural sugar and savour the refreshing feeling that comes with enjoying this drink. Furthermore, sencha boasts other benefits beyond its stunning flavour.
