The ‘Captain’s Quarters’ Silver Needles tea tin boasts 30 grams of premium yin zhen white tea from the Fujian province. Also known as bai hao (or silver needles), this white tea consists only of tender spring buds that brew up an almost crystal clear infusion. Experts describe this tea as having a refreshing and palate-engaging flavour profile. A dainty brew that’s perfect on its own. Any additions would only mar its rare and refined flavours! Aside from the tea’s premium grading (denoting how the blend comprises only downy buds from the tip of the tea plant), this white tea’s entire production is done almost entirely by hand. The white tips are plucked, withered, and carefully dried using orthodox methods. As a result, Bai Hao Yin Zhen boasts a low tannin content, making for a tea that’s light in both colour and taste.
