This is a funny phrase as chai means tea in Hindi (so “chai tea” means “tea tea”) and masala translates to ‘spice’, which refers to the delicious blend of petals and spices that have been used to make chai masala for the past 5000–9000 years. Similarly, our blend does not mess with tradition!
This chai features a balance of black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and rose petals. Tastes perfect on its own, especially when brewed as a traditional stovetop chai. Chai wallahs made masala blends for Ayuvedic purposes back in Ancient India and Siam (modern-day Thailand). While we mostly enjoy chai for recreational purposes, the spices in it are also high in antioxidants and traditionally sipped in prevention against the common cold.
Given there is nothing better than cosying up with a warm mug of stovetop chai during the colder months, this chai is a go-to favourite in the wintertime. You can also up the comfort factor of this spicy blend by adding a dash of honey into the mix!
