Care Instructions
To ensure the longevity of your cast iron teapot, please follow these basic guidelines:
Before using your cast iron teapot for the first time:
- Thoroughly rinse the teapot with hot water
- While the teapot is still warm, dry the teapot inside and out with a dry cloth
When using your teapot always note the following:
- The best way to clean your cast iron is to simply rinse with water while the teaware is still warm and dry after each use.
- Cast iron teapots are designed to brew tea, not boil water like a kettle. Therefore, do not use it on stovetops; the protective enamel lining can be damaged from excess heat.
- Never use in a microwave oven or dishwasher
- Do not expose the teapot to salt or oil
- Do not scrub your cast iron teaware with abrasive pads or detergents that may damage the protective enamel
- Never cool the teapot when it is still warm
- Don’t use kitchen utensils that can scratch the glaze inside the teapot
