A classic Chinese green tea that offers a mellow, slightly sweet brew with a touch of smokiness. Organic Gunpowder green tea derives its name from the rolled shape of the leaf. When Europeans first came across this leaf in China, they believed it resembled the shiny granules of gunpowder. The rolled shape of gunpowder tea helps keep whole leaves intact, and thereby retain its full fragrance and flavour profile! In turn, this traditional green tea is best enjoyed without milk and sugar.
Our high-quality gunpowder green tea produces a mild yet intricate smoky flavour that boasts earthy tones and a soft mouthfeel. The small pellet-like appearance of the tea denotes its premium quality. The tea is also organic. Like all global green teas, gunpowder tea contains antioxidants and caffeine. Specifically, the loose leaves unfurl during the brewing process and release special antioxidants like EGCG.
