HAJUA ASSAM TEA—PREMIUM GRADE LOOSE LEAF
A single estate loose leaf we pluck from the very tip of the Assam tea plant! Hajua Assam tea offers a blend of Super Fine Tippy Golden Floral Orange Pekoe (SFTGFOP) leaves. This black tea comes from the famous tea-growing northeast Indian region of Assam. It also uses high-grade golden tips to produce a deliciously smooth brew that is both beautifully malty and exquisitely aromatic. A high-tannin composition means that Hajua lends itself well to the addition of milk. However, we think this brew tastes best on its own!
This tea boasts a bold flavour, rich savoury aroma, and The Tea Centre’s highest tea grading; you can find out more about different tea gradings and what they mean here. An SFTGFOP grading denotes how the Hajua tea estate only used Assam leaves from the very tip of the tea bush to make this quality batch. Moreover, a high tea grading also reflects Assam’s unique production process. The Hajua estate has produced some of India’s finest Assam tea. In the local dialect, the name of the estate means, “the abode of the swans”, connotating the garden’s elegance and premium product!
This quality Assam also doubles as an indulgent gift. Looking to explore other more-ish Assam blends? Our single estate Joonktollee and Dhelekhat Assams are full-bodied brews that sport equally robust taste profiles
