Dragonwell teas (also known as Longjing teas) have a long and fantastic history. This quality green tea grows on the hills around the old city of Hangzhou, which lies on the Yangzi River delta. Historically, the ancient temples around Hangzhou became famous for their tea plantations during the Ming Dynasty. To this day, tea connoisseurs pilgrimage to Hangzhou to drink Lung Ching made using water from the famous Hupao (‘Tiger Spring’) that lies near the tea plantations.
