MAKAIBARI DARJEELING — ORGANIC PREMIUM BLACK TEA

From one of the finest tea gardens in India comes organic Makaibari Darjeeling, a beautiful second-flush black tea with floral tasting notes. A delicate tea that brews up a gorgeous golden colour, which denotes its premium tea grade. Not only is this Darjeeling organic but also boasts a single-estate, Fine Tippy Golden Floral Orange Pekoe (FTGFOP) classification. To find out more about tea grading, click here.

While all Darjeelings are considered the “champagne of black teas”, our Makaibari blend is particularly aromatic thanks to its slightly nutty top notes and mild flowery flavour. This complexity makes our Makaibari tea ideal on its own. Adding milk or sugar would mask its intricate flavours! This intricacy comes from the Makaribari Tea Estate, which is located in Kurseong. Nicknamed the “land of the white orchid”, Makaibari was, in fact, home to the world’s first tea factory! Makaibari Tea Estate was first established in 1859.
