MILKY OOLONG TEA — CHINESE TI KUAN YIN WITH MILK ESSENCE
A high-grade oolong infused with blooming milk essence that pleases the palate with a multitude of flavours. With its harmonious marriage of creamy and nutty notes, we recommend steeping China Milky Oolong over a long afternoon when you have plenty of time to enjoy its lingering taste. Enjoy on its own or with a splash of milk and sweetener. Or for the more adventurous, why not add tapioca pearls? Due to its buttery flavour, this oolong is a popular choice at many bubble tea shops.
Much of what makes this fusion tea irresistible lies in its foundation: the premium Ti Kuan Yin oolong base. Come springtime, the tea farmers in Anxi (Fujian province) pluck the leaves from the ‘Iron Goddess’ tea plants and leave them to dry in the sun. After cooling, the farmers then stymy the oxidation process (around 20-30%) by pan-roasting the leaves and flavouring them. Specifically, they envelop the leaves in milk essence and leave them to dry for twenty minutes at 60°C using a repetitive infusion process.
Finally, the leaves are rolled into their distinctive ball shape, which unfurls upon infusion and releases an evocative coconut-like aroma! This oolong is only available for a short time only, so be sure to shop now before we’re all sold out!
