SECOND FLUSH DARJEELING TEA — LOOSE LEAF BLACK TEA
The Tea Centre’s classic Second Flush Darjeeling tea exhibits deeper muscatel flavours and a murmur of faint woody undertones than the delicate First Flush Darjeeling. A rich, highland Darjeeling tea, this summer-picked loose leaf offers a more rounded, full-bodied taste in comparison to earlier harvests. Overall, this is a refined cup that exudes the bright essence of a sub-tropical summer harvest! Perfect on its own without milk or sugar.
This ‘champagne of teas’ summer varietal (July to August) is a harmonic blend of different gardens in the Darjeeling district of India. Therefore, it is truly representative of all the fine and complex flavours this tea-growing region has to offer. Freshness and taste aside, the second flush loose leaf is also lauded for its fine strength, and smooth, strong finish. This Darjeeling also boasts an FTGFOP tea grading, which denotes in part its orthodox method (every leaf or bud is plucked by hand)! If you want to more about tea grading, check out our blog on the topic here.
