Rooibos is very high in antioxidants and is also caffeine free – so can be shared and enjoyed by all the family!
Be warned, this recipe serves 2 but I would suggest doubling, tripling or quadrupling it, as you’ll need enough for the whole family and you won’t be able to stop at just 1 glass 🙂
- 5 fresh raspberries, crushed with apple or cranberry juice + extra raspberries for garnishing
- 1-2 tablespoons of sugar syrup (sugar syrup is equal parts sugar and water – dissolve the sugar in hot water and allow to totally cool)
- 1/2 a lime cut into wedges + extra slices for garnishing
- 8gr traditional Rooibos tea
- 1 cup of boiled water
- 1 cup of soda water
- ice cubes
Put rooibos tea into an infuser or tea sock and steep in 1 cup of boiled water for 5 minutes.
Remove tea leaves and allow to cool.
Add ice, crushed raspberries and associated juices, sugar syrup (always best to start with the smaller amount and add more if you think it needs it).
Squeeze limes into mixture and then add the squeezed lime into a cup each.
Add soda water to mixture and mix well. Taste to see if it needs more sugar syrup and once your happy with it pour into glasses with the squeezed lime wedges.
Garnish with the extra raspberries and lime slices and serve.
