Stovetop Chai: 7 Simple Steps

There’s nothing more cosy than curling up with a warm mug of chai on a chilly evening. Drawing from the traditional Indian custom, chai is an incredible infusion of black tea, spices and milk.

The process of concocting this beloved beverage on the stovetop can often feel a little involved, so we’ve listed our easiest recipe below. Before long you’ll have your own brew bubbling away on the stove, filling your home with the scent of spice. Chai it at home this winter…


You’ll need

Loose leaf chai (2 teaspoons) 
Try Mumbai Chai or Masala Chai
Water (half a mug)
Milk (half a mug)
Honey
Chai Brewing Pot (or small saucepan)
Strainer


Step 1

Pour about a half mug of water into your Chai Brewing Pot.

Step 2

Scoop in your teaspoons of Tea Centre chai.

Step 3

Bring mixture to a simmer on medium heat.

Step 4

Next add the half mug of milk and bring to a simmer again.

Step 5

Simmer for at least 5 minutes before turning off heat.

Step 6

Pour mixture through strainer into your mug.

Step 7

Stir in a dollop of honey to taste. Enjoy!
