‘Tea-Up A Check Up’ & WIN

The Tea Centre’s latest fundraising initiative for the McGrath Foundation champions checking up on the important women/people in your life in more ways than one.

At the heart of the McGrath Foundation is female friendship. There’s not only the love shared between the late founder Jane McGrath and her best friend, the current director and ambassador Tracy Bevan, but also the insurmountable support that the McGrath Breast Care Nurses provide Australians experiencing breast cancer.

Inspired by this friendship, and the share-friendly capabilities of both Instagram and tea, The Tea Centre has recently launched a new fundraising initiative: the Tea-up A Check Up’ Instagram competition!

Using our social media platform for good, The Tea Centre is not only donating $1000 upfront to the McGrath Foundation, but also an extra $1000 for every 1000 entries! What’s more, there’s also a $500 tea prize up for grabs!

How to enter the Instagram competition, you ask? Given the best conversations and check ins happen over a quality cup of tea, all you have to do to enter is:

  1. Upload an Instagram post or story of you enjoying tea with a special person in your life, and
  2. Tag @theteacentre and @mcgrathfoundation
  3. And be sure to be following both accounts for your chance to win!

Camera-shy followers needn’t shy away from this competition either. Your entry doesn’t have to include faces or any other special requirements; as long as it captures a moment of catching up with a special person in your life, it counts!

In terms of the tea prize pack valued at $500, the lucky winner can look forward to the following:

Of course, this campaign is about a ‘check up’ in more ways than one. We’re proud to say that the McGrath Foundation has supported almost 100,000 families right across Australia since 2005 with their McGrath Breast Care Nurses.

From the time of diagnosis, and throughout treatment, they inform, organise, empower and support people with breast cancer and their families. However, the work is not finished until every person experiencing breast cancer in Australia has free access to a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

It costs around $140,000 to fund a single McGrath Breast Care Nurse for one year, which is why every entry into our competition counts! The competition runs on Instagram until 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 10 (with the winner being drawn on Monday, April 11).
