True Brew: Australian Daintree Tea

Nestled within the Daintree rainforest is Australia’s renowned tropical tea plantation.

This beautiful part of the country is where two World Heritage sites — the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef — meet. The pristine natural environment, along with abundant sunshine and rainfall are responsible for the revered quality of Daintree tea.

An area notable for its sugar cane crops and cattle, the Daintree plantation stands out as a unique agricultural venture. Established in 1978, the plantation remains family owned and is operated with great respect for the local area. With the Daintree’s status as the world’s most ancient rainforest, the plantation uses no more than the 50 hectares they need to produce this in-demand tea, leaving the surrounding wilderness untouched.

Entirely unblended and carefully cultivated without any pesticides, Daintree tea is a true single-origin black tea. Best described as aromatic with an earthy flavour profile, Daintree can be enjoyed black or with a splash of milk.

The Tea Centre is proud to stock this truly unique Australian tea.
